Jumble Story

Character - 9. A college student

Setting - 2. A wedding reception

Time - 4. after a big meal

Situation/Challenge - 9. Something embarrassing has just happened

It was the night of my best friend, Brandon Hollier wedding. We were all at the reception at the Renous Rec Center. Colby, Dillan, and me were all sitting at the head table with Brandon. It was a lovely time, and everybody was talking after the wedding supper was served.

The time to start speeches was soon. As we all talked and laughed, the mothers and fathers of the bride and groom were up welcoming each other into their new families. Then one by one, Dillan, Colby and me got up and said how happy we were for Brandon and his new wife, telling a few jokes about them and having a good laugh.

Just before I sat down, I told the guest that if anybody had any embarrassing stories about the bride or groom, to feel free to come up and tell them. Everybody was seated, and finishing up their desert, when a young man made went up to the micro phone and started telling a story about Brandon.

I didn’t recognize him at first until Dillan pointed out to me who he was. He was a friend from NBCC Moncton. He was telling a story about Brandon back when he was a college student. The story he told brought back memories of school, and something that Brandon hoped we all forgot.

The story cannot be told on a high school blog because of the content of the story, with it being college and all. As soon as Colby figured out the story, he told me, and immediately I remembered, and so did Brandon, he turned bright red and put his head down. We still laugh and joke about that night.

It took us five years to forget that story, and Brandon was glad we did, but after his wedding, I don’t think we will ever forget.

Carburetor verses Fuel Injected

Carburetor or Fuel Injected. Which one do you prefer? To most people it doesn’t matter. As long as it runs, gets them from point A to point B, they’re happy. But to a select few, it makes the world of difference.

All cars that are produced today are fuel injected, or EFI. Cars were carburetor from day 1 until the late 80’s, when it became mandatory to be EFI by law. With emissions being a big issue, they figured that fuel injected engines would be better on gas. There are Carburetor engines that are better on fuel than some EFI engines.

Fuel consumption just depends on who’s driving the vehicle, where they are driving it, what are the conditions they are driving in, and if they have cruise control on.

When driving with cruise control on, an EFI maybe better on fuel, because when your vehicle comes to a hill, it will gear down to overtake the hill. With a carburetor engine, when it gears down like the EFI, it becomes harder on fuel, but the carburetor has a feature that the EFI doesn’t have. The carburetor has a four barrel, or two barrel on some. The four barrel is what mix’s the air and fuel.

Some people argue that EFI make more power than Carburetor. One web site said “Carburetor enthusiasts argue that carburetors make more power over port injection because the fuel helps "cool" the intake manifold. If this were true, what about Throttle Body Injection? I have seen little evidence to prove that carburetors out-perform port EFI on identical engines and vice-versa in controlled conditions.” Meaning that if carburetor keeps the intake cool and makes the engine work better, but the “Throttle Body Injection” (TBI), which is a type of EFI system, is very similar to the carburetor. With that being said, they are the same performance wise.

The cost is widely argued. The startup cost of a carburetor is cheaper, but in the long run, EFI is said to be cheaper. EFI has less hassle to repair; it just has to be electrically programmed. But for some people, it is just as easy to use the carburetor. The carburetor is very easy to tune, but has costly parts that have to be replaced every now and then.

Performance up grades like turbo and super chargers are very compatible with the EFI system, while carburetor is not so good.

Myself, I prefer carburetors over EFI, but in the winter time, or any time that your car is warming up, the EFI is a lot less hassle.

The pros outnumber the cons for EFI, and vice versa for Carburetors, but I’ll still take a Carburetor over an EFI any day.

How To Change A Tire Video

Analysis of an Opinion Article

“Batman and Our Psyche” is written by Lucas R. of Parkdale, OR. I found this article on Teenink.com at http://www.teenink.com/Opinion/article/ 88492/Batman-and-Our-Psyche/. The opening paragraph gives you an idea what the essay is going to be about.
The main point of the article is comparing the new Batman Movie, “The Dark Knight”, to the original Batman comic series in 1940, and the original in 1966. What caught my attention in the first paragraph was that it was talking about the new Batman movie, “The Dark Knight”, because it is one of my favorite movies. There are ten paragraphs in this article, and they mostly all stick to the main point.
What I like about this article, is that the writer just doesn’t say that the new movie is the best thing since sliced bread, but he also says that the movie has its faults. The article was shown me a new way to look at the movie when I look at again.
I found that the conclusion is very well written, and the grammar is good.
I liked this article, because I liked the movie “The Dark Knight”. I liked it because it’s not a one sided argument. It shows us the good and bad sides off the movie, and compares it to the old TV series and movies.

How To Change A Tire Video Review

In this video we are shown how to change a tire. Although this video shows a very different way to change a tire. Instead of using a hoist, they use a jack. Instead of using an air gun with the proper sockets and torque stick.
They put a dummy tire on instead of putting on another tire the same size as came off.

In my video I would be using the proper equipment to change a tire like; an air gun, torque sticks. Sockets, hoists, tire changer and balancer.

This video would be best for people who do not know how to change a tire on the side of the road, in emergencies.

How to change a tire

No matter who you are, how old you are or where you are from. As long as you own a car, the tires are going to be changed. Most teenagers and some adults need to change tires, because they spun them off. Some people don't believe in spinning, but they still need to change them at least once a year. Either from winter to summer tires or summer to winter tires.


Before you get started, you need a few things to change a tire. You need an air gun to take the tires off, you need a air compressor to run the gun, you need proper size sockets (to take the tires off) and torque sticks (to put the tires on the car). The torque stick should only be used to put the wheels back on the car. The first thing to changing tires is, you need a tire that needs to be changed. Now there are several ways that you can change a tire. But the best way I found to change a tire is in a garage, on a hoist. The first thing you do is get the car on the hoist. You then put the car in the air far enough that you can get under it, to put the jack that is hooked to hoist, in the air. Then you make sure all the locks are up on the hoist, and then you let the hoist down to about waist level. If the car has hub caps, take them off, then get the proper size socket (¾ or 13/16). Use the air gun and socket to take the wheel nuts off. Be careful that the wheel doesn’t fall off on you. You then take the tire off the hoist and roll the tire over to the tire changing machine. There you take the valve out of the valve stem. That lets the air out of the tire. Once all the air is gone out of the tire, you set the tire on the ground, were the machine breaks the sides of the tire down, so you can take the tire off the rim. You then put the wheel on the round table, where you put the swing arm to the rim, and take the wedge and pry against the side wall of the tire. You make the round table turn and the wedge pulls the tire off, then you flip the tire and do this again. You then cut the old valve stem off, and put a new one on. You then take a wire wheel that hooks to a grinder, and clean both the tire, and the rim, from rust and corrosion. After you have cleaned the rim, you put tire sealant on the bead of the tire. You set the rim on top of the tire, put the swing arm on the inside of the tire, then let the turn table, turn. You then put the wedge in between the bead of the tire and the lip of the rim. You then fill the tire to the proper air presser. Most tires run from 32-37 psi. You then take the tire and put it on the balancing machine. Then make sure there is no dirt on the inside of the rim. Then take any existing weights off the rim. Then you take the size of the tire and put into the tire machine. Spin the tire and let the machine do its jobs. Most tires will require weights to properly balance the tire. You then take the tire off of the balancing machine and put the tire back on the hub. You then take the wheel nuts and start them by hand, then use the air gun with the proper torque stick, and make sure you torque the wheel twice. Put the hoist down and your done.

Dazed and Confused Movie Review

Dazed and Confused is a movie by Richard Linklater. It captures’ the dream of most every high school kid past and present. Based in 1976, or the “Golden Years” as I call them. To me Dazed and Confused should be one of the top movies of all time, because it not only is funny but is educational, showing the affect of drugs and alcohol. The character had a big end of school party planned, but it got canceled when the guy hosting it, his parents didn’t go away for their week-end trip. Even though their party plans are canceled, they still find a way to have a good time. “It’s the night they’d never forget, if only they could remember.
